You need to be a member of dixon in order to be part of the club. That being said, any OSU student or affiliate can join our team!
We invite anyone who has ever been interested in a triathlon to join us. We have people who have never done or only completed one or two races. We also have multiple time Ironmen! Our goal is to help you become the best triathlete you can be, whether you are just starting or have been racing for years. Being part of a team provides a great social environment to train in and have fun. So come join us!
And the list goes on. You tell me your excuse, and I'll let you know how we make sure you can join, even if you have hesitations.
To become involved in the club, the very first thing you should do is join the list serve. The list serve is the means of communication within the club. Work outs meetings and all other inquiries are sent out via the list serve. Anyone can join the list serve.
Visit the web site http://lists.oregonstate.edu/mailman/listinfo/triclub or click http://bit.ly/triclublist.
Fill out the form with your email and password. If you are an onid user, you can use your same password.
Note: The last question before selection the subscribe button is: "Would you like to receive list mail batched in a daily digest?" By selecting no (default), you will receive individual emails in real time. By selecting yes, you will receive 1-2 emails a day usually around noon.
A lot of emails are sent through the listserv and if you don't like to receive multiple emails a day, the digest is a good way to lessen the impact on your inbox. You can always change this option by revisiting the above site and editing your options at the bottom of the page.
Also, if you receive digest emails, you will need your user name and password to access attachments. Just click the attachment link and put in your information to view the file.
Please note: There are nearly 400 people on the listserv, and your email goes to all of them. Please use discretion and appropriate language.
To become an active member of the club and to be able to attend member only events, trips and workouts, and to be eligible for race reimbursement, you must be a dues paying member.
Dues are $40 annually due in the fall. If you join late in the year and pay dues in the winter or spring it will still be $40. Also, please be prepared to pay for the following year on time in the fall.
Dues can be paid by cash or check (made out to Oregon State University; memo line: Triathlon Club). DO NOT PLACE YOUR DUES in the club box in the sport club office in Dixon. PLEASE give your dues directly to a club officer. It is best if you put them in an envelope with your name so we don't get it mixed up. You can pay at practice, at a meeting or you can set you a time to meet with the treasurer.
In addition to paying dues, you must sign a waiver to be a part of the club.
The waiver can be found here. Follow the below instructions.
You will not be allowed to participate in club activities if you do not have a waiver on file.
The Club provides many benefits to members, including race reimbursements and discounts from our sponsors. In order to be eligible for these benefits, we require members to volunteer at the Beaver Fever and the Beaver Freezer. Accomodations can be made for exceptional circumstances on a case-by-case basis. Please contact the volunteer coordinators.
