Welcome to Society of Manufacturing Engineers, Oregon State University Chapter

SME is a nonprofit association of professionals, educators and students committed to promoting and supporting the manufacturing industry. SME helps manufacturers innovate, grow and prosper by promoting manufacturing technology, developing a skilled workforce and connecting the manufacturing industry. OSU SME has objectives to support in professional development, cross-disciplinary exposure, and networking opportunities for students within the manufacturing engineering and manufacturing technology framework.

Resources/Seminars

 

  • SME Direct Digital Manufacturing Advisory Team organize the two-part seminar series. The seminar will cover the fundamentals of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). They are free of charge, and available on demand. Register Part I, Part II.
  • College of Engineering (COE) offers several supports, such as
    • Drop in and appointment COE Peer Tutoring for undergraduate students.
    • COE Programming Helpdesk.
    • Wellness resource: It’s Okay Not to Be Okay, COE has a new Wellness Coordinator and Counselor, Shannon Frasca; drop-in hours every Wednesday from 1–3 pm in Johnson Hall 114 or schedule a consultation here.
    • Professional support. If you are looking to get career advice, COE Career Development Center can support you. The center is located at 124 Johnson Hall, with drop-in advising hours (in-person or virtual) and a resume.
