About Us

Gamma Alpha Omega Sorority was the first Latina-based organization founded on the campus of Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona.

GAO was founded on January 25, 1993 with a strong desire to serve our community as well as obtain higher education degrees for all sisters.

Our Founding Mothers:

  • Michelle Seanez
  • Amy Alvarez
  • Patsy Guardado
  • Clara Lopez
  • Annette Escalante
  • Valerie Mendoza
  • Roxana QuiƱiones
  • Sandra Seanz

These ladies are whom we recognize for creating this organization and whom set the stage for our continuing legacy. These visionary young women formed Gamma Alpha Omega, a community service-based sorority, with their focus not only being social issues, but to excel in school, motivate others in the community and around them, generate role models and eventually help develop strong leaders.
