Food and Fermentation Science Club
Welcome to the Food and Fermentation Science Club!
We are based out of the Department of Food Science and Sustainable Technology in the College of Agricultural Sciences at Oregon State University. Our members come from all different colleges and walks of life with one common passion: Food and Fermentation! All events are open to all students, and we have events and meetings during the academic year.
How To Get Involved & Club Structure
-
Sign up for the Food and Fermentation Science Club Mailing list to get email updates about upcoming club meetings and events. Feel free to reach out to club officers via email with ideas for events, activities, and collaborations, or for more information about the club.
-
General club meetings: Officers will talk about different events, workshops, industry tours, service projects, etc. that will take place, and give information as to how to get involved. Sign up when the emails come out! They are a fun way to get to know other students and learn more about the food and beverage industry.
Workshops: Hands-on, student and/or faculty led food and fermentation related activities. This can look like follow-along tutorials/lessons, sensory testing education, or prep for a big event!
Industry tours: small group outings to food and beverage producing/processing facilities for tours and other activities.
Termly gatherings:
- Fall term "Clubsgiving" club-wide potluck meal
- Winter term Charcuterie Grazing Table club-wide meal (2026)
- Spring Term "Springfest" Oktoberfest-style fundraiser
Other: sponsored competitions, informational meetings, volunteer opportunities
