Welcome to ACM-W! (Basically the women in computer science club). We are a student organization with the mission to increase the promotion, retention, inclusion, and celebration of women in information technology. Our meetings are bi-weekly on Thursday from 5:30-6:30p in Kelley Engineering 1005. These meetings usually start with the group hanging out and eating food, followed by announcements about on-campus events and opportunities, updates about ACM-W, and sometimes an interaction with an industry professional. Otherwise, the group continues with the topic of the meeting. Some topics we’ve covered in the past are resume reviews, internship application workshop, building confidence and community, women in tech, and more. A few officers have attended the Grace Hopper Conference, and this club works to advocate for the continuation of the Oregon State Grace Hopper Scholarship. ACM-W also does outreach events, and works with companies such as Google, Intel, and Lucidchart to do events like hackathons and mock interviews. Our meetings are free and open to all! :)
