Waste Watchers is student-run group who's mission is to engage students and the community in waste reduction at OSU by providing educational programming, meaningful opportunities for action, and empowerment of future leaders.
We offer a space to get together with like-minded students, host events, and educate others about waste reduction. We have dedicated meeting time to having fun as a group, making it an awesome place to make friends and learn new skills.
You can become a Waste Watcher too by volunteering with us (see opportunities below)!
Note: Subscribe to our email newsletter to receive 2 emails per month with upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, and news to keep you informed about sustainability at OSU!
The Public Relations Chair will help draft ideas and content for Waste Wednesdays on social media. They will also consider different social media platforms when creating content to post (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter). If desired, they can also help create the content itself for social media (on Canva or other platforms).
The Membership Magician takes charge of the volunteer recruitment. They also help the Club Coordinators and the Advisor with support and coordination to complete marketing tasks and assist in drafting social content (e.g. sending out listserv's and social media share requests).
The Logistics Leader focuses on planning and coordinating volunteer events. They will help present at student clubs about our campaigns and recruit and train volunteers to present as well. They will also help support and coordinate to complete marketing tasks and assist in drafting social media content.
