Biography

My name is Jose Toledo and I am currently a Senior at Oregon State University studying Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Business and Entrepreneurship and another minor in Aerospace Engineering. I was born in Watsonville, California but raised in Hillsboro, Oregon. Freshman-Sophomore year, I did Undergraduate research on Manufacturing processes with Dr. Malhotra. I did my research project on Single Point Incremental Forming of Polymers and Laminates. For the summer of 2018, I got into the program called Emerging Leaders Internship (ELI), giving me the opportunity to intern as a Validation Engineer at Allion USA testing different technology products. Currently I am the President of the Gates Millennium Scholars Association here at OSU. I joined SHPE in 2017 of Fall term as a member, and now I am the Treasure and Webmaster of this remarkable club. Other programs I am involved in are the STEM Leaders Program, LSAMP, and the Leadership Academy for Engineers at OSU. It is always a blessing to be able to say that I am an HSF scholar and a GMS scholar. My biggest accomplishment so far is to be able to get an education! I love hiking, playing sports, going to the gym, giving back to the community, and meeting new people! I am always looking forward to learning new things including Salsa dancing, learning French, and even playing chess!
