Don't forget to bring your OSU ID card (please read all of the further information below). For logistical or safety reasons participation at each training and/or practice may be limited. Spots in each event are first come first serve.

WHERE: There are two parts, training and range practice. Training will be on campus (final location and dates TBD) and range practice will be at Albany Rifle and Pistol Club (ARPC) in Shedd, OR. There will be an OSU motor pool shuttle (space limited) to get out to the range.


  • On campus training will be (McAlexander Fieldhouse classroom) on Wednesdays 5pm-7pm. You must be on time to participate! As needed we may schedule a training date that isn't on a Wednesday.
    • Spring 2022 trainings:
    • Thursday May 5 (priority for students who cannot make Wednesday trainings), Wednesday May 11, Wednesday May 18, Wednesday May 25, Wednesday June 1

  • Range practice will be at ARPC on Friday evenings from 5:30-9pm. You must be on time for final training at the start of practice!
    • Spring 2022 range practice:
    • Friday May 6, Friday May 13, Friday May 20, Friday May 27, Friday June 3

WHAT TO BRING: If it is your first night this academic year, and need the afore mentioned training. Always bring closed toed shoes and your student ID. We supply all other equipment! This includes pistols, ammunition, free targets and all safety equipment.

WHO: This club is open to all registered students, grad students, and all faculty at the Oregon State University Corvallis campus who have paid a recreational sports fee (part of Dixon membership). No previous firearms experience required; we'll teach you everything that you need to know.

COST: Spring 2022, $15 for the first trip out to ARPC. No cost for initial on campus training. Fee includes up to 2 boxes of ammunition during range practice. Later trips during spring 2022, cost of ammo at $5 per box (50 rounds).

WHAT DO WE SHOOT?: We shoot .22 bulls-eye pistol at a distance of 50 feet. Our fleet of target firearms is primarily Ruger MK II, MK III, MK IV pistols with bull-barrels.
