The greatest benefit of joining a sorority is gaining a network of lifelong friends. Sororities have always been a place for women to gather, build friendships, support academic pursuits, develop leaders, and provide a sense of belonging. Each of our Panhellenic chapters provides an environment of loving sisterhood that empowers each woman to be her best and fosters valuable friendships that become a highlight in a women’s college experience. Lifelong friendships are built in our chapters, which each host a variety of bonding events “sisterhoods” and carry special traditions! Sisterhood doesn’t last only from Bid Day to graduation, the bonds of sisterhood can last a lifetime! These impactful relationships help to form a support system through your college years and beyond. These are the ties that bind and help make a large school like OSU feel like home. Above all, you will work with your sisters to achieve common goals and strive for excellence for yourself and the community.

Activities/Retreats

Our Panhellenic chapters hold regular events for their members to promote sisterhood. Sisterhood events that our chapters put on for their members are: fall pumpkin patch trips, cookie/house decorating, bowling, cycling classes, flower pot painting, Bachelor Night, beach trips, tailgating for OSU football games! Additionally, each of our chapters host their own member retreats. These events and retreats strengthen the sisterhood bonds between members and provide more opportunities for connection!

Big/Little

“Big and Little” is a tradition that is seen across many universities campuses, including all of our Panhellenic chapters! When you join a sorority, a new member is paired with an active sister who becomes her “Big” sister.  A “Big” sister’s job is to take a new member under her wing and help integrate the “Little” into the sorority. Additionally, there will be a Big/Little event where your Big’s identity is revealed! This mentorship program has seen many successful relationships over the years and many women have stated that their college experience would not have been the same without meeting their Big sister. This old sorority tradition embodies the true meaning of sisterhood.

Family Events

Your membership in one of our Panhellenic chapters is a special relationship that you can share with your family. Our chapters welcome family involvement and many of them have Parents Clubs that provide extra support to the chapters. Joining your chapter’s parent club is a wonderful opportunity for your family to become involved in your chapter and the Greek community at OSU. Many of our chapters also host events for families such as Fall Family Weekend and Spring Family Weekend.
