Our Mission Statement

The Circle of Sisterhood Foundation is a mechanism by which sorority women can stand together as one community to help improve the lives and livelihood of girls and women worldwide by removing barriers to education.

Why?

“Education is access - to knowledge, to understanding/compassion, to skills, to community. Education should not be something that is compromised any more than the need for air in our lungs or food in our mouths.”

As a council, we prioritize our own education and scholarship above all else. We demonstrate this value through our commitment to helping women worldwide receive the education they deserve.

The Circle of Sisterhood is not just about putting girls in classrooms;

•Affordability (inability to afford tuition, uniforms, boarding, etc.)

•Child marriage (denies access to education and support systems)

•Inadequate infrastructure (conducive structures)

•Lack of programs that encourage parent & community participation

•Lack of school supplies (textbooks, desks, supplies, etc.)

•Puberty (inadequate menstrual hygiene education, facilities, supplies)

•Sex trafficking

•Untrained or underfunded teachers
