Chapters are now actively participating in COB! Due to the COVID-19 response, chapter COB events must be virtual and any in-person meetings must follow OSU's social distancing, gathering, and face covering policies. 

Informal Recruitment is also referred to as Continuous Open Bidding (COB). It is a recruitment process that some chapters can participate in after Fall Formal Recruitment. Only chapters that have open membership spots can participate and usually very few chapters are eligible. This is why we encourage students who are interested in joining a Panhellenic chapter to participate in Fall Formal Recruitment if possible. However, COB is a great opportunity for students who were unable to participate in the formal process to join the Panhellenic community!

Events

COB events will look different for each organization. Chapters might host a game night, bowling, coffee dates, or other various types of events.

They are designed to be less structured than formal recruitment, which can allow you to meet more chapter members and give you a unique insight into what being a member of that chapter is like. These events may take place over a couple of weeks or the chapter might hold just a couple of events before extending bids.

Submit a COB Interest Form! Panhellenic will share the information submitted on this form with chapters who are eligible. You must be signed into your OSU Gmail account to access this form. This is not a registration and there is no fee.

The best way to learn if a chapter is participating in COB is to follow their social media accounts! Chapters will post about their events and might share an interest form.
