Do:

  • Show up on time to ALL recruitment events.

    • Gamma Chis will be around major walking paths to help lead PNMs to chapters to avoid being late. If you don't attend a party you have been invited to you will be removed from recruitment.

    • If you have a scheduling conflict due to classes or outside commitments, talk to your Gamma Chis or Kate Walsh at [email protected]
  • Use your Gamma Chis as resources. They have been in your shoes before!
    • These women were chosen because of their leadership and communication skills. Talk to them about your day and feelings so that they can help you have the best recruitment experience possible!
  • Dress comfortably.
    • Make sure that you are wearing clothes (and shoes!) that you are comfortable in. If you've never worn heels before, don't try starting this week!
    • Choose outfits that match your personality and that you are comfortable wearing all day long.
  • Take care of yourself. Recruitment is a whirlwind weekend!
    • Make sure you're eating healthy meals and getting a routine for yourself.
    • Whether you need to unwind at the gym, reading a book, or watching Netflix, do what you need to do to feel rejuvenated and energized for the next day.
  • Use your Recruitment Booklet.
    • The recruitment booklet will be available fully virtually for this upcoming year so you will always have access to the information!

Don't:

  • Let others sway your decision.

    • This is a big decision that you need to make for yourself. Ignore what you've heard from anyone else and find the chapter that is the best fit for YOU!

  • Forget about school.
    • Remember that school is still your first priority. Use your break days wisely and get on top of your school work.
  • Fear being released from a chapter.
    • Part of recruitment is the mutual selection process. This is one of the hardest parts for both the PNM and the chapters. You will meet women that you really enjoy at all chapters you visit but might not get invited back and that's okay!
    • Trust the process and know that you will find the right fit for you.
  • Be anything but yourself.
    • Don't try to be anything you're not. Yes, you want to make a good first impression but don't feel pressured to be anything but yourself.
    • Remember: the recruiters are students and women just like yourself with the same hobbies and interests so don't be afraid to talk about them!
