Welcome to BIS Club!

The BIS Club is run by students passionate about Business Information Systems (BIS). If you have been accepted in the BIS major you are already a member! However, you do not have to be a BIS major in order to participate in the activities hosted by the BIS Club -- many of our officers are not! We like to include everyone at our events as we feel they can help many succeed in life during and after college. There is no membership fee to join the club.

The Business Information Systems (BIS) club aims to connect and build a community of students who share a passion for BIS. The student-led club hosts guest speakers, alumni and professional development events. The club officers collaborate with partners within and outside OSU, assist with organizing field trips, participate and host technology outreach events, expose club members to faculty sponsored projects, and help students connect with industry professionals, internships and career opportunities. Come join our next meeting!

About Us

Business Information Systems (BIS) Club is open to all students with an interest in information systems, and information management. The club's purpose is to provide students with opportunities to: gather in peer-led meetings, network with industry professionals, and participate in activities which help students prepare for, and better understand careers in information systems and information management. Principal activities include guest presentations, field trips in the winter and spring, and a graduation/scholarship event in the spring. In addition, job shadow opportunities are arranged for students interested in spending a day with a business information systems (BIS) professional, observing professional activities. The club organizes presentations by recruiters, consultants, and instructions on use of cutting-edge software.

By default, all BIS students are members of the BIS club. In the past the club has done an excellent job of giving students ways to build contacts with industry professionals and prepare for the job market. The BIS club has helped manage the Microsoft Academic Alliance, which provides College of Business students with free access to nearly all of Microsoft's development software, such as the Visual Studio suite.  We encourage you to become involved with the club.
