Black Graduate Student Association (BGSA)

The BGSA is an organization dedicated to making the Oregon State University (OSU) community aware of and responsive to the needs and concerns of black graduate students. The BGSA serves as a professional and social support body for graduate and undergraduate students. BGSA is particularly concerned with the recruitment and retention of black undergraduates into graduate school. 

Ayan Robinson
President

Ayan Robinson is a PhD student specializing in Robotics at Oregon State University.  Her research is currently operating in two main areas of study: Robotic policy and Robotic comedy.  Beyond her academic pursuits, her personal interests include baking, watching anime, and spending time with friends and family.

Victoria McCrary
Secretary

Victoria McCrary is a 2nd Year PhD student in Civil and Construction Engineering with an interest in sustainable and healthy buildings.

Janelle Layton
Treasurer

Janelle Layton is the current treasurer and public relations represenative for BGSA. Janelle is a PhD student studying fisheries science and is excited to work with more Black students across campus to help rebuild BGSA.

Oluwafemi Omilani
Coordinator

Femi is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Horticulture. He's the Events Coordinator of the BGSA as well as a member of the community. He looks forward to welcoming those interested into this awesome community as we grow in camaraderie together. 

Savannah Clax
Officer

Savannah is a master's student in Marine Resource Management at Oregon State University and her research focuses on climate changes impacts on fisheries.
