The Flat Tail Club Awards and Recognition Program gives students the opportunity to recognize student leaders for their outstanding work. These are awarded each year to the organizations and individual people who have gone above and beyond in their organizations.
This award is to honor an outstanding ASO that feels they demonstrate leadership through dedication to their organization and positively contributed to the Oregon State community during the academic year.
This award is to honor an outstanding USO that feels they demonstrate leadership through dedication to their organization and positively contributed to the Oregon State community during the academic year.
This award is intended to recognize an emerging student organization who has demonstrated progress in establishing their student organization and are currently working on making their impact on the Oregon State community during the academic year. An emerging organization is an organization that has been recognized as a student organization for less than 3 years.
This award recognizes a club/organization that has contributed to the community through direct service, advocacy, community support, and/or philanthropic efforts during the academic year.
This award recognizes a large scale event executed by any group or organization on campus (more than 100 people in attendance).This event must have been open to the entire campus community during the academic year.
This award is intended to recognize a small scale event executed by any group or organization on campus (less than 100 people in attendance). This event must have been open to the entire campus community during the academic year.
This award is intended to recognize the events organized by cultural student organizations on campus to share their culture in a positive, supportive, and inclusive environment on campus during the 2019-2020 academic year. Please note that though you may apply for this award and Large Scale Event of the Year, you will only be able to win one award.
This award is designed to recognize an outstanding member within your organization for all of their individual hard work who embodies the core values of Oregon State University: accountability, diversity, integrity, respect, and social responsibility. This award will be presented to a student that, through their achievements, has made a valuable contribution and lasting impact on the Oregon State University campus and/or surrounding community during the academic year.
This award is designed to celebrate a student who has been involved in a variety of activities but has not necessarily held formal leadership positions or been in the spotlight. It should recognize a person who rarely receives recognition for their work "behind the scenes" during the academic year. Though officers are acceptable, we ask that you consider someone who may not always be in the spotlight, but still has a remarkable impact on the group's success.
Please note that though the same person may be nominated for both Unsung Hero and Outstanding Student Leader, they can only win one award.
This award recognizes an outstanding individual who advanced the mission of their student organization while challenging and encouraging the membership to advance new initiatives, acquire new skills, and prepare the group for leadership transition and ongoing success during the academic year. The award recipient must display a commitment to leadership development, membership engagement, innovation, and cross-campus collaboration.
This award is for an advisor of a University Student Organization (USO) who has a strong educational role within the group and has helped students learn through their involvement. They should demonstrate dedication, availability, and energy in their involvement with their students. They should be valued and respected by those students with whom they work and have a strong understanding of the organization's needs and goals during the academic year.
