Officer Eligibility & Responsibilities

Elections are held at the end of Spring term. Officers shall be elected to serve for one year or until their successors are elected. Their terms of office shall start immediately following the election or at the end of Spring term, whichever is earlier.
Eligibility
All officers must be students currently attending Oregon State University. Additionally, officers must:

Be in good standing and not on disciplinary probation

Have earned at least 6 credit hours in their most recently completed term (does not apply to first-term freshmen or first-term transfer students)

Be registered for at least 6 hours in the current academic term

Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00 and not have been on probation for the most recently completed term prior to the term of election

Graduate students are eligible to be nominated for an officer position, but must pay student fees and meet the same requirements as an undergraduate student listed above. For graduate students, full time status must be at least 6 hours with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00.
Roles & Responsibilities
While we have required officer positions, club officers take a collaborative approach to task delegation. After new officers are elected in Spring, they will discuss among themselves to decide what tasks they’d like to take on.
Our required officer positions are:

Responsibilities:

Oversee the operations of the club and officers.

Represent the club in meetings with the university and other businesses and organizations

Manage other club officers and coordinate officer meetings

Advocate for club to administration

Sign off on payments as co-signer

Plan and organize elections
-
Coordinate liability and safety, including establishing safety officers as necessary
Finance Officer
Responsibilities:

Submit funding requests
-
Submit payments
-
Submit reimbursements
-
Manage cashbox/ticketing websites
Dance Scheduling & Room Booking Officer
Responsibilities:
-
Organize room availability.
-
Check that scheduling works with majority of officers.

Book rooms for dances and events.
We also have several optional officer positions as well. Multiple officers can hold any of these positions and duties can be shared as needed based on availability and interest. These are:
